A village located on a spectacular site overlooking the Wingercarribee River between Bowral and Moss Vale. A refinement of previous masterplanning studies for retirement communities, introducing concepts of the “New Urbanism” to retirement community planning. The village consisted of 98 self-care free standing dwellings carefully sited along the existing site contours to minimise its impact on the sensitive natural environment and to provide ease of access for the community residents. A substantial period house on the site was refurbished to provide a community centre and a separate new purpose built activities centre was located within in the created formal gardens.
